Jesus and homosexuals

hello again, Its been awhile I know but I have been very busy since my wife had our little girl. Also we have had some computer problems so anyway thats that.

What I would like to talk about is Jesus and homosexuals. I know that in my religous experience there have been many cruel things said from pulpits concerning this topic.  Well I thought I would just put my opinion out there and see if maybe I could change some points of view.

The tipical thing most christians will tell you is that they believe that if you are a homosexual you are going to hell because you can’t serve God and live in sin. To this comment I say let him/her with no sin throw stones. It amazes me that christians have picked certain sins that a believer in Jesus can never stumble on. All sin is dangerous not because God will cast you to hell but because unhealthy decisions are not going to lead you in a good direction.

The other thing that comes up is that gay people aren’t born gay. Well yes and no. We all have unhealthy tendencies. and yes you are born with them. So are gays born gay?  Kind of yes. Does that make it right? Well what I am about to say is going to totally offend all traditional values people. Whether or not it is a sin to be gay isn’t the point. The point is that we should love our fellow man not because we follow Jesus or go to church but because we are all human.  We live on the same planet and the deeds of one of us effects all of us. So we must love each other with our flaws. We don’t have to agree with someone to love them! I know that I struggle with sin and I’ve been a Christ follower for 15 years.   So to end this time let me encourage you the christian reading this think before you speak out against the gay agenda. And to you who are gay or lesbian let me say that I love Jesus and I do not judge you. Jesus doesn’t either so know that he loves you just the way you are.    till next time.

  1. Excellent post, spot on – sin is sin, regardless of what the actual act is, the effect is the same. So we shouldn’t be creating a hierarchy of sin, deciding that homosexuality is the pinnacle of it and unforgivable – and just to prove that not all Christians do this, check out the post I wrote on the subject just a couple of months ago! http://somethingcrazy.wordpress.com/2010/01/13/quick-questions-is-homosexuality-wrong/

hello somethingcrazy thanks for the comment your post was dead on
if we look at one sin as worse than others then our attitude is way out of line. right on God bless

Hello elementoffire, I mostly do agree with you, except that if I where not a christian, why would I try to love other human? Because I as a christian believe that everyone deserve to be treated like God’s creation, even more, like God’s picture on the earth. But if I’m not christian, I wont read the Bible, and if I do so, why would I like human beeing? Because they are cool? All the wise way of life, all the right perception of the life purpose, the aiming I try to focus on, everything of good of my conception of reality is found on the Bible, so I NEED to be a christian. Plus, even if I knew the truth, without the Holy Spiirit inside of me, I not able to do anything rightly. So Christianity brings me Justice, Holiness, Truth and Ability to live this graces.

  4. Hello fellow believer:)

I agree that you cant judge ..by judge i mean to say that a certain person has to follow the set of rules that i follow to receive salvation…..which happens way too often unfortunately … salvation comes by faith in Christ alone…… so if you judge in this manner you are judging yourself ..because by judging you are saying its my awesomeness that i get to go to heaven.. when really you are in sin as well…. all of us fall short of Gods glory . it is a sin to not do what you know you should do! those are some crazy standards!.. that is why we are in need of a savior:) and as you know his name is Jesus Christ the perfecter of our spirit.

With that said ..i believe that a true born again believer strives towards holiness….. even if they are miserably failing at it…and i don’t mean holiness in our spirit… i mean in our soul and body……let me explain…. kinda:)

I believe there is a huge difference between a person that says he or she is gay and says that this is how God created me and this is awesome..
and the person that says he or she is gay and understands that the lifestyle is a sin…admits it…. and says i need a savior….like we all do….

you wrote “”I know that I struggle with sin and I’ve been a Christ follower for 15 years.”

now that is the difference….you admit that what you do is not right..that you are struggling with these things… and obviously rely on Christ for your salvation….not your works…Thank you Jesus!! Right:)

anyhow….. i’m not saying that a gay person has to stop being gay in order to receive salvation…. im saying that they have to put their faith in Christ… and i think that if they truly do this .. then the new spirit that is now within them will long towards holiness….its all about the attitude of the heart…. i know its not a over night thing…. just like yourself in the last 15 years…. but i believe that if you spend time with the Father through Jesus your heart will start to change and you wont want to do the things you once wanted to do …yet if you deliberately keep sinning and then start saying that the sin is ok..its not that God doesn’t love you… its that you will be hardened towards God … that’s what sin does…it affects the way you love God.. and eventually it might even get you to a place where you deny him all together…….
